What are the Packages Available?
The main events take place from 6th to 17th September 2007, beginning with a concert by Phil Coulter in Letterkenny on Friday 7th September, there are a host of activities and special functions through to the closing ceremony on Sunday 16th September, all of these events are listed below and for the main events we have created a series of special packages that include guaranteed entrances and tickets to the main events.  The packaged listed below are based on a 3 night stay with the option of;
 
*      self drive package including accommodation and tickets for the main events
*      Including the 45 minute Flight Dublin to Donegal and a 3 day rental of a compact manual car rental with all inclusive insurances and including accommodation and tickets for the main events
*      Including the Flight from Glasgow Prestwick to Donegal and a 3 day rental of a compact manual car rental with all inclusive insurances. (Both flights are operated by Aer Arann and are subject to their terms and conditions full timetables are listed below)
*      Including the Stena HSS ferry or the P&O fast ferries from Troon and Cairnryan to Larne.

What’s included in the Package?
Each package includes: Tickets for the Flight of the Earls Banquet (13th September), The opening Ceremony and launch of the Commemoration (14th September), an evening of entertainment on board the Jeanie Johnstone (12-16 September),  the Gala Carnival and Walk the Plank Fireworks Spectacular (15th September) and the closing Concert on the 16th September.
 
IT’S INCLUDED!  The Flight of the Earls Banquet. 13th September, Letterkenny
The Flight of the Earls commemoration is of huge interest to Irish and Ulster Scot Clan members around the world.  A special banquet has been planned to accommodate the largest Clan gathering in Donegal for centuries.  Descendants of the Ulster clans will be in attendance at this medieval dinner dance which will include re-enactments, jesters, bards traditional Irish food.  Join the Earls for a fun night to remember.
 
IT’S INCLUDED!  Official Launch of the Commemoration 14th September,  Rathmullan
To mark the exact date of the Flight of the Earls a simple ceremony will take place on the shore of Portnamurray, Rathmullan.  Dignitaries invited include Foreign Ministers from Spain, Italy, Belgium and France and the President of Ireland.  A re-enactment of the Flight of the Earls will take place at 12pm in Portnamurray.

Flight of the Earls Spectacular Re-enactment and Carnival, 15th September
A spectacular show that recreates the departure of the Earls on land and sea.  Using fireworks, music, lights this stunningly choreographed show will be the highlight of the Festival for many.  Produced by one of Europe’s biggest outdoor show organisers the outdoor event will have the stunning backdrop of Rathmullan and Lough Swilly. Produced by the same company behind the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games this will be one of the most spectacular shows ever to be seen in Ireland. 
 
IT’S INCLUDED!  Inishowen Carnival Parade ‘The Exiles Return’ 15th September. The Inishowen Carnival Group’s ‘The Exiles Return’ carnival parade of 300 performers will tell the story of the ghostly return of the clans of the Earls in a blaze of fanfare and pageant.  A colourful story of how the “Emerald Empire” spread and how Ireland and the world have changed because of it. 
 
IT’S INCLUDED! Flight of the Earls Closing Concert,16th September
This, the World Premiere of Flight of the Earls composition will be performed by the Irish Chamber Orchestra and a choir of 200 local school children.  A combination of music and poetry this spectacular and moving performance will be a truly entertaining end to a packed and exciting festival.

IT’S OPTIONAL! A 4 HOUR CRUISE AROUND LOUGH SWILLY ON THE JEANIE JOHSNTON

Trips on the tall ship “Jeanie Johnston” September 12th  - 16th Rathmullan, Depart from the same spot as the Earls did 400 years ago and re-enact the first step of the “Flight of the Earls” journey through stunning Lough Swilly. Cost is €80 per adult and €40 per child
 
IT’S OPTIONAL! Commemorative March 14th – 16th September - Donegal Town to Rathmullan
Our vision for 'The Flight of the Earls' commemorations is to march over three days 14th 15th and 16th Sept 2007. To replicate this event in our own way 99 people will march from Donegal to Rathmullan. We see it as a way of bringing people from all over Donegal together.
